eHrana said goodbye in 2021, when the Slovenian food delivery provider was bought by the Spanish Glovo. However, since Glovo unexpectedly left Slovenia on May 10, 2024, Wolt remained the only food delivery provider in Slovenia. In order not to remain with a monopoly, Matic Šubic bought eHrana from Glov, which also came to life in June 2024. The key difference from the “old” eHrana, however, is that, at least initially, they will not have their own delivery fleet, but will serve as an intermediary for restaurant orders with their own delivery. Of course, they will continue to accept student vouchers. Already now, eHrana is the largest provider of delivery to student vouchers.
eFood is back also because restaurateurs wanted it
At the press conference, Matic Šubic revealed some details about the revival of eHrana. Matic was there when eHrana grew, and he was also part of the team that managed eHrana and Glova. Now, with his own savings, he bought the eHrana brand and returned it to the market. Although the brand is already well known, it is managed by a young company. Matic Šubic said:
When Glov was closed, I received a lot of phone calls from restaurateurs, users, (former) employees and friends lead library of telegram asking them to return the restaurant to the market. This was the main reason why I decided to buy the brand and relaunch what was once a popular and valued local service among users.
Matic Šubic also pointed out that they see a great opportunity in adapting the online and mobile application to the needs of local caterers and users. In addition to tte , mobile versions. They also promise upgrades in the near future, including tracking the delivery process.
eHrana currently does not have its own delivery fleet
This functionality was not offered by the original eHrana, nor later by the provider Glovo for deliveries that the restaurant Kết nối với Mạng lưới hỗ trợ made itself. This is one of the functionalities that, at least at first glance, is lacking compared to the current competition on the market. Another detail that Šubic pointed out is that they will take care of low delivery prices while at the same time taking care of fair long-term cooperation conditions with caterers and offering the largest coverage of food delivery in Slovenia.
Currently, more than 70 restaurants are active in eHrana, and according to Šubic, they already have around 100 confirmed. By the end atb directory of the year, they expect 100,000 registered users, thousands of orders per day and more than 120 restaurants included in the eHrana service. The new owner said that eHrana currently relies on ordering orders from restaurants and bars with its own delivery:
